Services Page

Here is an example of a services page you can create using the Music Maker theme.

The buttons on the page use the Easy Digital Downloads buttons, and the services get added to the Easy Digital Downloads shopping cart.

Instructions

Install the Hide Download Plugin

First, you will need to add an Easy Digital Downloads plugin called Hide Download.

1. In WordPress, click Add New under Plugins on the sidebar.

2. Search for EDD Hide Download.

3. Click Install Now and activate the plugin.

The plugins are now installed.

Install the EDD Downloads As Services Plugin

1. In WordPress, click Add New under Plugins on the sidebar.

2. Search for EDD Downloads As Services.

3. Click Install Now and activate the plugin.

The plugins are now installed.

Add Your Service

1. Click the Add New Beat link under Beat Store.

2. Add the title of your service.

3. Enter the price of your service under beat prices.

4. Under Beat Settings, check “This beat is a Service” and “Hide this beat”.

5. In that same box, copy the Purchase Shortcode:

6. Click the publish button. Nothing else on this page needs to be filled out.

Add Button to a Static Page

Next, we will be creating a static page to promote the services and include the button for the service we just created.

1. Click Add New under Static Pages on the sidebar.

2. Give your page a title.

3. Add any text you like and paste it in the shortcode. Optional – By default, the text says “Buy Now!”. You can check the text in this button. For example, you can change it to “Order Service”

4. Optional – Turn off comments. Uncheck “Allow comments” in the discussion box.

5. Optional – Select the full-width template to remove the sidebar from the page. Select “Full Width” under Page Attributes.

6. Click the publish button.

Click the View Page link to see the page. Sample page below.

Once you get your services page the way you want it, you will want to add the link to your navigation menu.

Additional Notes on what the EDD Downloads as Services plugin does when selected:

1. Hide the “no downloadable files found” message on the purchase confirmation page when your service has no download files attached to it
2. Hide the extra dash in the purchase receipt email when your service has no download files attached to it
3. Select categories from the plugin settings that house your “services”. Any download within the selected categories will be marked as a service.
4. Mark downloads as services on a per-download level. A checkbox is added to the download configuration metabox
