WordPress Security Plugin Suggestions

Here are my favorite security plugins I use for HipHopMakers.com to help protect the website from being hacked.

Top WordPress Plugins

1. WPS Hide Login – Use this plugin to give your login page a custom URL, which makes it harder for hackers to find the page.
2. Wordfence Security – This security plugin notifies you if your site is being hacked and temporarily blocks IP Addresses.
   • Important: Turn off live traffic mode. It takes up a lot of server resources.
3. Limit Login Attempts – Blocks IP Addresses when there are four failed login attempts.
4. WP-DBManager – Use this plugin to optimize and back up your website database.
   • Tip #1: You should occasionally back up your database in case your site gets hacked and you need a backup of your information.
   • Tip #2: You should occasionally optimize your database to help your website run better.

• Akismet Anti-Spam – Block spam.
• WP-Optimize – I turn this plugin on occasionally to help clean up unimportant data in your database.
