How to Add Beats ( For Sale, Free, Etc. )

Once you have set up the beat store back-end you are now ready to start adding beats.

If you experience any problems, try searching the Beat Store FAQs.

There are 4 beat type options:

  1. For Sale – Use to sell beats with a single price, or multiple license options.
  2. Free Download – Use to give out free beats to your visitors
  3. No Price – Use to negotiate beat pricing.
  4. Sold – Use to showcase your previously purchased beats.

For Sale

How to add beats that are for sale.

Required Inputs: Beat name, select “For Sale”, audio preview, beat prices, beat files.

Step by Step Instructions & Details

1. In WordPress click Add New Beat under Beat Store on the sidebar.

2. Enter the Beat Name. ( Required )

3. Select “For Sale” for Beat Status. ( Required )

4. Upload an Audio Preview ( Required )

  • Click the Upload File button and select your MP3 file.
  • If you do not see the file URL, click the File URL button.
  • Check out this post if you are having problems inserting the audio file.

5. Optional Inputs:

  • Tempo ( BPM ) – This is beats per minute or tempo.
  • Produced By – Include a producer name.
  • Time – Enter a time length of the beat.
  • Description – Enter a description of the beat. This appears on the single beat page.
  • Highlight Icon – You can add an icon to highlight the beat in your beat store.
  •  Add an SEO meta description. Used by search engines.

Option 1: Adding a Single Priced Beat

  1. Add the single beat price in the Beat Prices box.
  2. Upload the Untagged Beat
    • Under Beat Files click Upload a File upload your untagged beat. ( Zip files are recommended )
    • Click the Upload Files tab.
    • Click the Select Files button to browse your computer for you beat or drag the untagged beat into the overlay window.
      • We highly recommend you put your beats in a zip file to help protect your server.
    • Click the Insert into beat button.
  3. Name the file under File Name.
    • Example names: MP3, Wav, or Zip or Beat Name – MP3

Option 2: Adding a Multiple Prices

  1. Under Beat Prices check Enable Variable Pricing.
  2. Enter the beat license name in the Option Name input and license price in the Price input. Example: Lease – $19.99
  3. Click the Add New Price button to add more license names and prices. Examples of other license options: Premium, Exclusive, Tracked Out, etc.
  4. Once you have finished adding the license options click the Save Draft button on the right of the page. The page will now refresh.
  5. Upload the Untagged Beats
    1. Under Beat Files click Upload a File upload your untagged beat. ( Zip files are recommended )
    2. Click the Upload Files tab.
    3. Click the Select Files button to browse your computer for you beat or drag the untagged beat into the overlay window.
    4. We highly recommend you put your beats in a zip file to help protect your server.
    5. Click the Insert into beat button.
    6. In the Beat Files box under File Downloads enter a file name.  
      • This is the file type the user will be able to download. Example: MP3, Wav, or Zip.
    7. Once you have added the beat download link, select the Price Assignment drop down to match with the correct license.
  6.  Repeat Step 5 Above for Your Multiple License Options

7. Add a Beat Thumbnail ( Optional )

  • Click Add Image link in the featured image box.
  • Image square dimensions: 300 x 300 pixels.

8. Add Music Genres

  • Example: Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, EDM.

9. Add Beat Categories ( Optional )

  • These are used to sorting beats.
  • Example categories: Free Beats, Beats with Hooks, Beat Loops, etc.

10. Add Beat Tags ( Optional )

  • These are used to sorting beats.
  • Tags can be used to describe the beat type, mood, instruments, or feeling.
  • Example tags:  Horns, Hype, Club, Bass Heavy, etc.

11. Add Price Range ( Optional )

  • These are used to sorting beats.

12. Click the Publish or Update button to make your changes live.


Free Download

How to add free beat downloads.

Required Inputs: Beat name, audio preview, free beat download file, and select Free Download as the beat status.

To edit the free download text go to Customize > Beat Store > Custom Text

Step by Step Instructions

  1. In WordPress click Add New Beat under Beat Store on the sidebar.
  2. Enter the Beat Name. ( Required )
  3. Select “Free Download” for Beat Status. ( Required )
  4. Upload an Audio Preview ( Required )
    • Click the Upload File button and select your MP3 file.
    • If you do not see the file URL, click the File URL button.
    • Check out this post if you are having problems inserting the audio file.
  5. Upload the Free Download by clicking Upload File. ( Required )
    • Upload the free beat in a zip file.

No Price

How to add beats with no price.

Required Inputs: Beat name, audio preview, and select No Price as the beat status.

How to add or changed beats to sold.

Required Inputs: Beat name, audio preview, and select Sold as the beat status.

Theme Options Panel Replaced

The Theme Options panel has been replaced with the WordPress Customizer.
In WordPress click Customize under Appearance on the sidebar to change all the settings mentioned.

  1. Is there any way to require the user (customer) to subscribe to a YouTube channel, Twitter or Instagram when giving away a free beat? This is the one functionality I see as limited in the Music Maker theme. I would love to get some subscribers for my free beats. Could you add this functionality in later updates?

      No, there is no feature like this built in. I don’t know how to make it happen right now.
